As part of the week of Russian language and literature at the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies on November 16, 2023, students from groups RYAL-211, PIMNO-211, 111, PD-111, IYA-111, KYAL-211, 111 visited the museum of Pushkin A.S. The purpose of the excursion: to develop interest in the work of Pushkin A.S., to expand students’ understanding of their hometown and its attractions.

The museum is located in a luxurious mansion on the main street of the city, built in 1825. Museum of Pushkin A.S. in Uralsk, by the way, the only one in Kazakhstan. The museum is one room in the house where Pushkin lived for three days during his stay in Uralsk to collect information about the uprising of Emelyan Pugachev. In the center of the room is a portrait of Pushkin A.S., under the portrait there are stands in which old editions of the books “The Captain’s Daughter” and “The History of the Pugachev Rebellion” are exhibited. For Kazakhstanis, the arrival of Pushkin A.S. is interesting because the poem “Kozy Korpesh-Bayan Sulu” was subsequently discovered in his archives.
