From April 2 to April 9, 2026, the Institute of Sectoral Technologies of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University organized the youth startup competition “AI Start up” as part of the celebration of Science Workers’ Day.
During the competition, students actively participated and demonstrated a high level of preparation, initiative, and commitment to the development of innovative activities. Participants presented relevant and promising projects reflecting current trends in technology and entrepreneurship.
The competition was attended by the Chair of the jury — I. N. Zhubantaev, Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations of WKITU, as well as jury members:
- M. Dudnichenkov, CEO of IT Group Kazakhstan;
- A. Murzabekova, Head of the Science Department of the Institute of Sectoral Technologies, WKITU;
- V. Mysko, Software Engineer of the Digitalization and Information Technologies Department of the Institute of Sectoral Technologies, WKITU;
- A. Urazova, Deputy Head of the Science and Digitalization Department of the Institute of Education and Management, WKITU.
A total of 20 teams of students from the Institute of Sectoral Technologies participated in the competition.
According to the decision of the jury, the winners were determined:
1st place — 3rd-year student of the educational program 6B07302 “Construction” Kamissariev Aidar, project “Mini-Smeta: Repair Cost Automation”;
2nd place — 3rd-year students of the educational program 6B09103 “Veterinary Medicine” Bektashev Alisher and Nassipkereev Yesenbek, project “VetSmart AL Intelligent Tele-veterinary Platform”;
3rd place — 3rd-year students of the educational program 6B04202 “Law” Amangeldiyeva Marzhan, Nysanbai Moldir, Sagynai Gulmeyram, project “Opening a Legal Clinic”.
Winners in special nominations were also determined:
- “Most Creative Project” — 1st-year student of the educational program 6B06104 “Computer Engineering and Information Systems” Galimzyanov Darkhan;
- “Best Everyday Life Solution” — 4th-year student of the educational program 6B06104 “Computer Engineering and Information Systems” Zhumagulov Asset;
- “Audience Choice Award” — 1st-year student of the educational program 6B07201 “Oil and Gas Engineering” Mukanov Abay.
The prize winners were awarded diplomas and monetary prizes provided by the management of the Institute of Sectoral Technologies.
