On November 23, 2023, a regional volleyball tournament among teachers and staff of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, organized by the Barys sports club as part of events dedicated to the 25-th anniversary of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University, was held in the sports hall of WKITU.
The purpose of the tournament is to promote a healthy lifestyle, increase cooperation between teachers and staff of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, and strengthen sportsmanship in volleyball.
The grand opening of the tournament began with a welcoming speech from the rector of the university, Candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Bekbolat Temirzhanovich Shakeshev. The competition participants were congratulated by the head of the department of physical culture and sports of Uralsk, Armat Amangeldievich Isanov, professor of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University, Candidate of Biology, Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorary Worker of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, winner of the state grant “Best University Teacher” Vladimir Leonidovich Mel’nikov.
The competition was attended by teams from the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University, Atyrau University after Khalel Dosmukhamedov, West Kazakhstan University after M. Utemisov, West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University after Zhangir Khan, West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Telecommunication Systems.
According to the results of the competition, the team of the West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University after Zhangir Khan won the 1-st place, the team of Atyrau University after Khalel Dosmukhamedov took 2-nd place, and the team of West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University took 3-rd place. Also, among the participants, Aralbayev Alpysbay Seyitkaliuly (AU after Khalel Dosmukhamedov) won in the nomination “Best Player”, Kuanov Ruslan (WKATU after Zhangir Khan) “Best Forward”, Zhumarystanov Kuanysh Omirbekuly (WKITU) “Best Forward”, Zhumagaliev Askhat Khamituly (WKU after M. Utemisov) “Veteran of the tournament.”
Students, instructors, and sports fans took part in the competition.
