A practice-oriented approach in teaching students and undergraduates of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety of WKITU is quite relevant, since the modern labor market is waiting for specialists who have not only a package of theoretical knowledge, but also extensive practical experience.

Professor of the department, Doctor of V.N. Baitlesov E.U. organized and conducted practice-oriented classes in the disciplines «Veterinary obstetrics and gynecology», «Gynecological diseases» for 4th and 5th year students of OP 6B09101 –Veterinary medicine and 2nd year undergraduates of OP 7M09101/7M09102- Veterinary medicine on the basis of the veterinary clinic «ZOODOCTOR», the head of which is Maxim Anatolyevich Stramousov.

Veterinary clinic «ZOODOCTOR» provides a large list of veterinary services using the latest medical equipment, such as therapy, traumatology and orthopedics, surgery, intensive care and resuscitation, medical examination, radiography, ultrasound, vaccination, laboratory diagnostics of animals.

During practice-oriented classes, students mastered the methodology of first aid for various animal diseases. The skills of thermometry, diagnosis of diseases by palpation, diagnosis using an X-ray machine, administration of drugs by intravenous method, sterilization of animals have been worked out.

Such a connection between practical actions and training is an important condition for the formation of students’ general and professional competencies that indicate their readiness for veterinary activities. In our opinion, the practice-oriented approach allows our students to acquire the necessary minimum of professional skills, work experience of veterinary specialists, professional mobility and competence, which corresponds to the educational standard and makes our graduates competitive.
