On December 4, a field practice–oriented lesson on the discipline “Electric machines” was organized for students of the 3rd year of OP 6B07102 – “Electric Power Engineering” in ZapKazREK BTO base LLP under the guidance of teachers of the department “Power Engineering, Automation and Computer Engineering” V.P. Zakharova, L.A. Sadykova, N.G. Buranova, B.A.Sarguzhieva” on the topic: “The purpose of the transformer. Types of transformers” and in the discipline “Reliability in power supply systems” on the topic: “Reliability indicators. The main factors of reliability of electrical equipment”.
The purpose of the practice-oriented lesson is to familiarize with the practical aspects of relay protection, including the operation of current and voltage transformers, as well as oil transformers. The participants of the lesson will be able to study how these devices ensure the reliability of power supply systems, as well as their role in protecting electrical networks from overloads and short circuits. Practical exercises will help to consolidate theoretical knowledge and develop the skills necessary for the effective use of relay protection in real conditions.
The course of the lesson:
– Students studied the principles of operation of transformers, their design features, testing methods and settings.
– The lesson allowed us to consolidate knowledge about how relay protection ensures the reliability and safety of electrical systems.
The acquaintance with the enterprise was conducted by the head of the relay protection and automation Department (RPA) M.M. Mergenov, who shared his experience and knowledge in the field of relay protection with the students. He also invited students to an internship with the possibility of further employment, emphasizing the importance of practical skills for successful professional activity in the energy sector.
