On May 16, 2024, in the large meeting hall of the akimat of Uralsk, the akim of Uralsk present letters of gratitude to university volunteers for their contribution, feasible work to protect our town and settlements from floods during an emergency in Uralsk in April of this year.

Since state of emergency in the Western region, volunteers have also been on their feet. Volunteers participated in the evacuation of residents and provided first medical and psychological aid to the rescued. They collected, sorted humanitarian aid and sent it to deployment points. They worked on the front lines to dig ditches and strengthen dams. If necessary, they provided hot meals for rescuers and military personnel.

During this meeting, deputy akim of Uralsk Zhandos Duisengaliev awarded letters of gratitude to 23 students of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University who were among the volunteers during the emergency. Vice-rector for educational work A.I. Abekeshev presented the university volunteers with letters of gratitude from the akim of the West Kazakhstan region Nariman Toregaliev and conveyed the gratitude of the head of the region.
