On September twenty-first, within the framework of the “Archive and Future Generation” project of the Committee for Archives, Documentation and Book Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the State Archive of the West Kazakhstan region held an Open Day for students. The event was attended by students and magistrands of the educational program “History” of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University.

The main goal of this event is to instill a love of history, teach skills to work with primary sources, understand the importance of using archival documents, familiarize the younger generation with the history of the region, promote archival documents to students, attract students to research work, show the importance and need of the archival industry and its role in society.

During the event, students got acquainted with the work of the archive staff and took a tour of the archive depository, and also visited an exhibition prepared by the archive staff.
