One of the national codes of the Kazakhs is the inscription

As part of the implementation of State language policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the programme “Ruhani zhagiru”, dated on the 28^th of November, 2018, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “One of the national codes of the Kazakhs is the inscription/ «Қазақтың ұлттық кодының бірі – төлжазу» was held. The conference was attended by Akim deputy of West Kazakhstan oblast, Mirzhan Satkanov, representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regional offices responsible for the development of languages, as well as national experts responsible for developing the transition of the alphabet to the Latin script. The leading experts of Kazakhstan, Germany, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Russian Federation are involved in the conference, investigating the issues of transition of the alphabet to the Latin script.

The conference was organized by West Kazakhstan Innovation Technological University with the support of West Kazakhstan Language Development Authority.

The purpose of the conference was to discuss the problems and ways of the transition of Kazakh alphabet to the Latin script, the exchange of views of scientists on the further development of the state language. Scientists from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan shared their experience in switching the alphabet to the Latin alphabet.

The conference participants discussed the development of State language in the context of globalization and digitalization, the importance of Latin graphics in the path of world integration, the introduction of a single standard of the alphabet of the official language on the Latin alphabet.

In addition to plenary and sectional meetings, a round table was held on topical issues of the transition of the Kazakh alphabet to the Latin script, master classes for teachers of secondary education schools on the problems and prospects for the introduction of the new Kazakh alphabet based on the Latin script.
