On April 20, 2026, meetings were held at the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety of the Institute of Sectoral Technologies, West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University, with students of years 1-5 enrolled in the following educational programs: 6B11201 Life Safety and Environmental Protection, 6B09103 Veterinary Medicine, 6B09104 Veterinary Medicine (Double Degree Program), 6B09105 Veterinary Medicine with Fundamentals of Zooengineering, 6B07205 Technology and Safety of Food Products, and 7M09101/7M09102 Veterinary Medicine.
The meetings were moderated by the Head of the Department, Candidate of Chemical Sciences L.I. Baitlessova; Deputy Head of the Department and advisor K.Kh. Kenesarina; as well as advisors I.K. Zhumagaliev, A.M. Amirgaliyeva, and M.M. Utarova. The meeting with master’s students was conducted online via the Zoom platform. Faculty members of the department also took part in the meetings.
During the meetings, the Head of the Department, Laura Ilyasovna Baitlessova, addressed key issues related to the organization of the educational process, including class attendance, timely completion of midterm assessments, completion of all types of internships, participation in academic mobility programs, and professional certification. Special attention was given to the development of research and extracurricular activities of students and master’s students. Detailed explanations were also provided regarding preparation for the final certification in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Additional information was presented on the implementation of an integrated GPA system aimed at ensuring a more objective and comprehensive assessment of students’ academic achievements, as well as enhancing transparency and academic motivation.
The meetings also included a discussion of the results of student and master’s student surveys. It was emphasized that students’ feedback is being taken into account and gradually implemented in the educational process, including improvements in course content, organization of the learning process, and information support.
Advisors and faculty members highlighted the importance of regular class attendance, adherence to academic discipline, and timely payment of tuition fees. Students were also informed about updates related to educational programs and departmental activities available on the university’s official website (wkitu.kz), the Instagram page (zkitu_zko), and the electronic database of the Institute of Sectoral Technologies.
During the meetings, students demonstrated active participation by asking questions related to tuition fees, the schedule of the winter examination session, and other organizational issues. All questions were answered thoroughly and comprehensively.
