As part of a memorandum of cooperation between West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University and Berdakh Karakalpak State University (Republic of Uzbekistan), Professor M.D. Kalmenov, PhD, of the Department of History and Law, conducted master classes and practical training for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Archaeology at the University’s Faculty of History during the spring semester of the 2025–2026 academic year.

Professor M.D. Kalmenov introduced students to modern methodology for studying nomadic burial mounds, as well as the technical aspects of conducting archaeological excavations in arid climates.

To further strengthen scientific ties between the two universities, important initiatives are planned: conducting systematic archaeological research on the Ustyurt Plateau, identifying new archaeological sites, and organizing joint archaeological excavations.

This academic exchange and future research projects will not only provide students with a true school of practical experience, but will also open up broad prospects for studying the shared history of the regions of Karakalpakstan and Western Kazakhstan.
