On November 21, 2025, the Department of Energy, Automation, and Computer Engineering hosted a guest lecture for learners of the educational program Computer Engineering and Information Systems. The event was dedicated to current trends in the IT sector, the development of regional innovation infrastructure, and career opportunities for young professionals in the field of information technology.

The invited speaker was Assel Kasymova, Director of the regional branch Batys Hub, who delivered an in-depth lecture titled “The Role of Regional IT Hubs in the Development of the IT Ecosystem.”

During her presentation, Assel Kasymova provided a detailed overview of how regional IT hubs contribute to creating an innovative environment, supporting technological projects, and fostering the emergence of new startups. She highlighted the various resources the hub provides to learners and young IT specialists, including educational programs, mentoring, professional consultations, project laboratories, internship opportunities, and participation in acceleration programs.

A significant part of the lecture focused on developing startup culture. The speaker explained where a successful startup begins, what competencies are required for its implementation, and how hubs help young developers move from idea generation to product development. Examples of successful projects nurtured within innovation hubs were also shared.

Assel Kasymova offered valuable recommendations for professional development in the IT field, emphasizing continuous learning, participation in hackathons and project schools, building a project portfolio, and strengthening communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

The lecture generated strong interest among the learners. They asked questions about how to start a career in IT, which directions are most promising, what steps are needed to launch their own projects, and how to effectively utilize the opportunities offered by Batys Hub.

Such events strengthen cooperation between the university and regional IT infrastructure, enhance the practice-oriented training of learners, and motivate them to pursue professional growth in the field of digital technologies.
