On March 14, 2024, a guest lecture on the discipline “Information and Communication Technologies” was organized at the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University. The guest lecture was given by the head of the robotics department of the Schoolchildren’s Palace in Uralsk, Kyrykbaev Nurbol Musauly, on the topic “Possibilities of robotics in education.” The lecture was attended by students and teaching staff of the Department of Social Sciences and Physical Culture.
The purpose of organizing the lecture is to promote the possibilities and achievements of scientific and technological progress in robotics in the higher education system and teach technical literacy, and increase the interest of students in the specialty. At the moment, a number of educational institutions in Kazakhstan are equipped with new digital devices and programs – the LEGO Education constructor, and are taking the first steps in the development of a promising direction. One of the branches of LEGO Education is robotics. Robotics inspires student innovation through science, technology and mathematics. The possibility of using robots in education is increasing every year. Through assembling, modeling and programming robots, students develop knowledge and skills in both robotics and engineering systems design. The future robot designer must have scientific knowledge in the fields of mathematics, physics, computer science and drawing. During the lecture, special robotics sets Lego we-do, spike prime, vex, tetrix, ref were presented and presented. The lecture aroused great interest among both instructors and students of the institute.
