In order to provide career guidance and inform school and college students about opportunities for obtaining higher education at West Kazakhstan Innovative Technological University (WKITU), the academic staff of the Department of Energy, Automation and Computer Engineering conducted career guidance activities in secondary schools and technical and vocational education institutions.
Within the framework of these activities, meetings were organized at the following educational institutions:
- Secondary School No. 12;
- Secondary School No. 26;
- Secondary School No. 39;
- Secondary School No. 48;
- Secondary School No. 34;
- Secondary School No. 8;
- Higher Engineering and Technical College;
- Uralsk Polytechnic College.
During the meetings, school pupils and college students were provided with general information about WKITU, the educational programs offered by the university, the specifics of the educational process, modern laboratories, and the university’s material and technical facilities. In addition, information was presented on graduate employment opportunities, career prospects, admission requirements, including the Unified National Testing (UNT), as well as state-funded and fee-based education.
The conducted career guidance activities contributed to increasing students’ interest in the educational programs of WKITU and supported their informed choice of a future profession. It is planned to continue systematic career guidance activities in schools and colleges in the future.
