On April 28, 2023, on the basis of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University, a general field meeting of the Association of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held with the participation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek. During the visiting session, the station and prospects for further integration of private universities in the implementation of regional development programs were discussed.

This event was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Akim of the West Kazakhstan region Nariman Turegaliyev, President of the Association of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rakhman Alshanov, scientists and rectors of private universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the issues of developing the human capital of the regions and the participation of private regional universities in it, the contribution of universities to the social and economic development of the regions, providing local production with qualified personnel, ensuring a strong connection between education and science to intensify the development of regions were raised and discussed.

During the session, Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek informed that the Concept for the Development of Higher Education and Science for 2023-2029 was approved in the Republic of Kazakhstan, within the framework of which systematic work is being carried out to develop national education and science. Speaking about the increase in the number of educational grants, he noted that in 2023 all universities that filled out the information card will be able to participate in the competition of educational grants. Pointing out that one of the objectives of this concept is admission to higher education, he stressed that from 2023 a unitary solidary educational accumulation system “Keleshek” will be implemented. At present, the program “Mamandygym – bolashagym” has been expanded, a regional map of professions will be created in each region. It was also noted that in order to provide students with dormitories, the transfer of hotels and business centers in the region that have not been invested for a long time into dormitories and its financing were taken into the hands of the state. The Minister noted that all issues of concern to private universities will be systematically solved.

As part of the event, Minister Sayasat Nurbek met with invited professors from the Republic of Turkey, who conduct classes as part of academic mobility at WKITU.
