On April 28–29, 2026, students of the “Veterinary Medicine” educational program of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University actively participated in the Republican Subject Olympiad held at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University in Almaty.
This event serves as an important platform for identifying and supporting talented youth, as well as for developing the professional competencies of future specialists in the field of veterinary medicine.
The Olympiad brings together students from leading universities across the country studying in the field of Veterinary Medicine and was conducted in several stages, including theoretical and practical tasks. Participants demonstrated in-depth knowledge in disciplines such as Veterinary Microbiology and Virology, as well as Veterinary Obstetrics.
A total of 142 students from 13 higher education institutions across the country took part in the XVIII Republican Subject Olympiad.
From our university, under the supervision of Candidate of Biological Sciences and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety, Zhybantayeva Altyn Nurymovna, 3rd–4th year students of the 6B09103 “Veterinary Medicine” program — Alexandra Kochetkova and Raisa Zhaksymurat — participated in the Olympiad.
According to the results, Alexandra Kochetkova achieved a honorable third place and was awarded a diploma. Raisa Zhaksymurat was awarded a letter of appreciation for her active participation.
Participation in such a significant event contributes to the formation of competitive specialists who are ready to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector and ensure veterinary safety in the country.
Thus, the Republican Veterinary Olympiad plays an important role in training highly qualified professionals and encourages students toward further professional growth.
