On February 27, 2026, a meeting on the topic of “No to Drugs” was held at the Institute of Education and Management of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University as part of the “Law and Order” concept. Staff from the West Kazakhstan Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the West Kazakhstan Regional Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Directorate met with students.

The event’s goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle, raise awareness of the negative impact of drugs on a person’s physical health and social well-being, teach ways to resist attempts to lure people into drug use, develop and defend their own opinions, and instill respect for the law in young people.

The event will feature special film screenings (“Hooligan”, “Not Bookmarkers”) and a practical demonstration of how the police department’s drug enforcement unit uses specially trained dogs to detect hidden drugs.

Peace and social development depend, first and foremost, on the rule of law. Law is a system of rules adopted by the state that all citizens are required to follow. Order, then, is the strict enforcement of these laws and the conformity of each individual’s behavior with the demands of society.

The following were invited as speakers at the event: Assistant Prosecutor of the West Kazakhstan Region, Serik Nauryzgalievich Oryngaliyev, Senior Detective of the Drug Crime Control Department of the Police Department of the West Kazakhstan Region, Police Lieutenant Colonel Bagdat Amanzhanovich Tugelov,

UIP GYUP OOB Abay OP UP of the city of Uralsk, police captain Kurmanalieva Aida Kaziyevna, UIP GYUP OOB Abay OP UP of the city of Uralsk, police major Musagaliev Rafkhat Shmidovich, member of the Council for the Prevention of Drug Crime of the West Kazakhstan Region Police Department Myrzakhmetova Asel Kazhikhmetovna, Coordinator of the project “Kazakhstan without drugs” in the West Kazakhstan region, volunteer Igizgali Symbat Talgatovna.

Vice-Rector of the ZKITU, Ayanbek Imanbaevich Abekeshev, summarized the meeting and offered valuable advice to students on legal liability and safety culture. The meeting generated a lively response from the audience. Approximately 200 students participated.

Participants asked questions about the consequences of using illegal substances, the responsibility for their distribution, and the possibilities of returning to normal life after serving their sentences.

Also, on this day, group advisors held curatorial hours in all university buildings, screening films such as “Hooliganka,” “Not Bookish,” and “Stashers: Payback,” reaching over 2,600 students.
