On November 14, 2025, the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology hosted a panel session on “New competencies and expectations of employers in the era of labor market transformation.” The event was aimed at discussing the current challenges of the labor market, identifying the most in-demand competencies of young professionals in the context of digital transformation, as well as strengthening the university’s partnership with employers and government agencies. The session began with a welcoming speech by Rector Bekbulat Temerzhanovich Shakeshev, who stressed the importance of training qualified specialists who are ready for the challenges of the modern labor market, and also noted the role of the university in shaping the region’s human resources potential. The moderator of the event, Samal Amangeldievna Mashanova, Vice-rector for Educational and Methodological Work – opened the meeting, emphasizing the importance of building a systematic dialogue between the university and employers to improve the quality of personnel training. The speakers followed: Tasmagambetov Asset Sembayevich, Director of the Institute of Education and Management; Tulegenova Aynagul Utegenovna, Head of the Department of Planning and Organization of the educational process; Maidan Zhambyl Beybituly, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations and the Code of the UPIIR of the West Kazakhstan Region; Abulkairova Aigul Kuspanovna, Head of the Human Capital Development Department at Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs. In their reports, the speakers highlighted key issues related to the updating of educational programs at the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology, the impact of investment activity on the formation of personnel demand, as well as the role of business in the development of human capital in the region. The panel session was productive and became an effective platform for the exchange of views between the university, employers and government agencies. The suggestions and recommendations received will be taken into account in the further improvement of the educational process. The event concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology and partner organizations, which opened up new opportunities for collaboration in the field of training and development of the region’s human resources.
