While in the whole Kazakhstan Nauryz is celebrated on March 22, in the western regions of the country the celebration of the New Year begins a little earlier – on March 14.
The meaning of the holiday is to wish each other well and to express respect for elders. The holiday is not limited to one day, but continues throughout the year. On this day it is customary to congratulate with a safe start of the new year. People express wishes for a long life and wish each other good health. The young pay tribute to the older generation, and the elders bless the young.
Of course, no holiday is without sweets and dastarkhan.
On March 14, 2023-2024 academic year the department of general education disciplines in the foyer of the building of ZKITU, located at the address Nazarbayeva 208 was covered festive dastarkhan with dishes of national cuisine. Here students and guests of the holiday were able to taste national dishes that were prepared specially for Nauryz meiramy.
