On 4.10.2023, for students of the educational programs 6B04203 Legal regulation of transportation, traffic and operation of transport, 6B04202 Jurisprudence and 6B04203 Judicial and prosecutorial activity, the Specialized Investigative Court of the city of Uralsk, West Kazakhstan region held a lesson on the practice of applying criminal procedural legislation in the field of the investigative judge.

Chairman of the court Ismailov Askar and Judge Zhunisbayev Sayan explained to students the importance of creating an institute of specialized investigative judges as a way to strengthen judicial control using examples of procedural and judicial practice.

The five main activities of the investigative court were clearly demonstrated to the students during the lesson: consideration of complaints of participants in criminal proceedings against decisions, actions and inaction of criminal prosecution bodies, the prosecutor; authorization of preventive measures in the form of detention, house arrest, bail, extradition arrest, extension of detention; authorization of actions of investigative bodies, related to the restriction of citizens’ rights (searches, seizures, seizures of property, etc.); authorization of secret investigative actions (personal search, ORM); consideration of petitions of participants in the process and representations of the prosecutor.

Recent amendments to the CPC of the Republic of Kazakhstan have introduced norms that should balance the rights of the parties and create a real mechanism of competition in criminal proceedings.
