From October 20 to 23, 2026, the city of Kinel in Russia’s Samara Region hosted the 6th International Student Olympiad “Energy and Mastery” in the field of Electrical Equipment and Electrical Technologies. A team of four students from the 6B07102 Electric Power Engineering educational program took part. Alongside teams from six Russian universities, our team from Kazakhstan competed under the guidance of Associate Professor L.A. Sadykova and Senior Lecturer Ye.N. Abilgaziyev.

The Olympiad aims to assess the quality of graduate training, enhance students’ professional skills, consolidate and deepen the knowledge and abilities gained through theoretical and practical study, foster creativity, raise the prestige of higher education, and identify the most gifted and talented students in the field.

The competition consisted of a theoretical stage and a practical stage. In the theoretical stage, participants solved problems and completed tests. The practical stage included four tasks: Assembling an Automatic Reserve Switching (ARS) Circuit, Installing an Apartment Service Distribution Board, Installing Self-Supporting Insulated Wire (SIP), and Installing a Lighting System.

The WKITU team delivered the best performance in the self-supporting insulated wire installation contest and took 1st place. In the practical task Assembling an ARS Circuit, Adilkhan Nasikhov, a student of group EL-41O, won 1st place. In the overall team standings, WKITU finished 2nd, behind only the host team from Samara State Agrarian University.

Congratulations to Nurdaulet Takhambetov, Adilkhan Nasikhov, Oryngali Arafat, and Askar Asylbek on their well-deserved success! We are proud of you and wish you continued professional achievements!
