On December 19, 2023, the advisors of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering: Kalesheva G.E., Serikova D. D., Uteeva T.N. together with the supervised groups on the educational program: 6B07201 – Oil and Gas business visited the Museum of Nature and Ecology of the city.
The Modern Museum of Nature and Ecology is a branch of the Museum of Local Lore and many exhibits in these museums still remain from the military museum of the Ural Cossack Army. The Museum of Nature and Ecology appeared in 1990, located in the N. F. Savichev Park. The museum has more than 10,500 exhibits.
The museum has three halls. In the first hall, the achievements of scientists and researchers of the region, minerals and bones of ancient animals of the region are demonstrated. The most interesting exhibits of the museum are the bones of extinct animals – a tusk, a vertebra, a molar of a mammoth. The second hall exhibits the insects of the region, of which there are 30-40 thousand species in the territory of the Northern Caspian Sea, the Steppe diorama, where animals are represented: marmot, jackal, steppe eagle, saiga. The Forest diorama is presented in the third hall. The largest animals of our forests are elk, roe deer, badger, lynx, and fox. Beluga, sturgeon, sterlet, sevryuga, carp, pike, walleye are represented in the museum’s exposition. The exposition ends with a section where the Red Book of the Republic of Kazakhstan is presented.
The event was informative in nature, so that our students would love their region, their nature and admire the beauty of our wealth.
The museum plays an important role in shaping the personality of students, helps to draw their attention to the problems of nature conservation, helps to feel the beauty and harmony of nature, to reveal its role as a source of creativity and inspiration.
We express our gratitude to the museum staff.
