On November 11, 2022, a practice-oriented lesson was held for students of the educational programs 6B04202 Jurisprudence, 6B04203 Legal regulation of transportation, traffic and operation of transport on the topic: “A suspect and a witness entitled to a defense have differences.” The organizers of the lesson were conducted by the investigator of the DP of the WKO, police Lieutenant Colonel Kuzhakhmetov Nurlan Lokbanovich. During the practice-oriented lesson, Kuzhakhmetov N.L. determined the place of the suspect and the witness in the criminal process, listed the differences in their legal status.

Witness, suspect have the right to defense. They can exercise this right both personally and with the help of a defender, a legal representative in accordance with the procedure established by the CPC of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The body conducting the criminal process is obliged to explain to the suspect, the accused their rights and provide them with the opportunity to defend themselves from suspicion, charges by all means not prohibited by law, as well as take measures to protect their personal and property rights.
