On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, students of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd courses of OP 6B04202 “Jurisprudence” together with the group’s advisors visited the M. Mametova Museum.

In this house from 1932 to 1934 lived the Mametov family, who raised a glorious daughter of the Kazakh people. Manshuk Mametova – the first woman of the East, awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union. She went to the front from the second year of the Almaty Medical Institute. In a short time, the girl not only mastered the machine-gun business, but also became a commander of the calculation.

Manshuk died on October 15, 1943 in the battles for the city of Nevel, Pskov region. Covering the retreat of her squad, she did not leave the machine gun until the last minute.

The museum was opened in 1982. Photos, documents, and personal belongings of the Mametov family are displayed here.

The students got acquainted with the heroic deeds of Manshuk Mametova. This event was aimed at fostering morality, love for the Motherland, and instilling its protection.
