On February 2, 2018, within the framework of the program of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nazarbayev N.A. “Bolashakka bagdar: Rukhani zhangyru” held competitions in orienteering for skiing among students of higher educational institutions and secondary special educational institutions, with the purpose of supporting the participants of the Olympic Games.

The competitions are organized by the sports club “Barys” and the “Finance” department of the Pedagogical faculty of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University. 8 teams took part in the competitions:

– West Kazakhstan Agrarian Technical University after Zhangir Khan;

– West Kazakhstan State University after M.Utemisov;

– Kazakhstan University of Innovative and Telecommunication Systems;

– West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University;

– Pedagogical college after Zh.Dosmukhamedov;

– Uralsk college of oil, gas and industries;

– Uralsk polytechnic college;

– West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological college.

In the team event, the 1-st place was won by the team of the Pedagogical college ater Zh.Dosmukhamedov, the 2, 3-places West-Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University named after Zhangir Khan and West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University, respectively.

45 young men and 35 girls took part in the competition. In addition to the team classification, athletes were awarded individual prize places.

In the individual event (boys):

the 1-place: Bolatzhanov Eldar (Pedagogical college after Zh .Dosmukhamedov);

the 2-nd place: Saginalin Yerlan (Pedagogical college after Zh .Dosmukhamedov);

the 3rd place: Umbetjarov Madeniet (WKITU)

In the individual event (girls):

the 1-place: Irgusaeva Nargiza (WKATU after Zhangir Khan);

the 2-place: Islyamova Mirgul (Uralsk college of oil, gas and industries);

the 3-place: Mukhamedrakhimova Akerke (WKATU after Zhangir Khan).
