On April 14, 2025, Serik Ganievich Kanatbayev, Professor of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety, Doctor of Biological Sciences, took part in a round table organized by college teachers on the topic “Achievements of Veterinary Medicine”, dedicated to the Year of Working Specialties at the Higher Agricultural and Technical College OKPO. Speaking at the round table, S. G. Kanatbayev told the students that he was born in a village in a simple large family, studied at a secondary school in the village, then graduated from the West Kazakhstan Agricultural Institute with a degree in Veterinary Medicine with a red diploma. It is also interesting to report that his interest in science began in Soviet times with participation in the scientific circle “Epizootologist” at the Institute, then he entered the postgraduate program of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Animal Husbandry in Moscow, the common capital of the states of the Soviet Union, where he successfully defended his PhD thesis and received the degree of Candidate of Biological Sciences. In general, thanks to his hard work and dedication, he currently holds a PhD in biology and a professor of veterinary Medicine, is actively involved in solving many complex issues in the field of veterinary medicine, is actively engaged in research work, and also trains students of the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology in the specialty “Veterinary Medicine”. He participated in a competition held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and won substantial grant funding. Currently, the tasks and goals are being successfully fulfilled with the participation of other scientists of the department, undergraduates and doctoral students.

In addition, he encouraged the final year students to continue their online studies at the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology after graduation, and also gave specific answers to many of the students’ questions.
