From December 7 to December 9, 2022, NAO “Gumarbek Daukeev Almaty University of Energy and Communications” (AUES) together with JSC “Samruk-Energo” held a Republican Olympiad among 3rd-year students in the educational program “Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering” in the discipline “Theoretical Foundations of Electrical Engineering”.

The Olympiad was held for the purpose of professional orientation of future specialists, popularization of the profession of energy profile, identification of gifted youth, improving the quality of training of specialists.

The Olympiad was attended by students of 17 universities of Kazakhstan. From our university, students of the 3rd year of the educational program 6B 07102 “Electric Power Engineering” took part in the Olympiad in the discipline “Theoretical foundations of electrical engineering”: Uzakbayev S.K. and Gusmanov A.R., accompanied by associate professor of the department “EAiVT” – Sadykova L.A.

The opening ceremony began with welcoming words from the Vice-rector for NID, PhD – Saukhimov A.A., the chief manager of the Department “Generation and Fuel” of JSC “Saruk-Energo” – Kystaubaev A.T., Managing Director for Operational Work of JSC “AZHK” – Nurakhmanov B.T., head of the electrical department of the department of CHP-1 named after B. Orazbayev. JSC “AlES” – Aimuratov D.B.

2 hours were allocated for the task. The task consisted of 4 tasks.

The organizers of the Olympiad organized a tour of the university laboratories for the participants. The tour was conducted by specialists and heads of departments. The students had a desire to continue their studies in the master’s program at AUE.

The participants of the Olympiad were presented with gifts and letters of thanks.

Questions about academic mobility of students, joint projects, joint publications were discussed with the director of the Institute “Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering”.
