On May 13, 2024, a meeting was held with advisers and university students on the topic “Anti-Corruption Policy” with the participation of the First Deputy Head of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Anti-Corruption (Anti-Corruption Service) for the West Kazakhstan Region Kasymov Muratbek Zhumagalievich, and the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission under the Public Council of the West Kazakhstan region Toremuratova Zhansulu Meneshovna.
The purpose of the meeting is to explain to students the changes and innovations in the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On anti-corruption”, the formation of “Zero tolerance” for offenses, the creation of anti-corruption immunity in society and the formation of an anti-corruption culture among young people, as well as promoting responsibility for their own education and future.
During the meeting, Muratbek Zhumagalievich delivered about innovations in anti-corruption legislation, toughening penalties for this type of offense, and he also called for an active fight against corruption and the consequences of indifferent inaction of society. He explained to the students what a bribe is, what is meant by giving and taking a bribe, what administrative and criminal liability is provided for, and other important issues. He also emphasized that preventing corruption is the responsibility of every citizen.
The Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission under the Public Council of the West Kazakhstan region, Toremuratova Zhansulu Meneshovna, urged students not to stray from the right path in search of easy results in the educational process, and to strictly comply with the requirements of the Code of Academic Integrity.
Students who took part in the event were active, asked questions and expressed their opinions.
Also during the meeting, information was announced about the functioning of the Anti-Corruption Service Call Center 1424, through which anyone can get advice and report cases of corruption.
