On March 2, a free offline master class dedicated to modern Web3 technologies and career opportunities in the blockchain ecosystem was held at the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University. The event was organized by the regional branch of Astana Hub in Uralsk — Batys Hub, in cooperation with the Department of Energy, Automation and Computer Engineering.
The speaker of the event was Maksim Afanasyev, Community Lead of Solana Super Team Kazakhstan. The master class was attended by 1st–3rd year students of the educational program «Computer Engineering and Information Systems».
During the session, participants explored the fundamentals of decentralization and the principles of blockchain technology, learned about the differences between decentralized and traditional centralized systems, and examined practical applications of blockchain in finance, logistics, and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). Special attention was given to the Solana ecosystem as a high-performance platform for developing decentralized applications.
Students were informed about free educational opportunities available at Astana Hub, international certifications offered by the Solana Foundation, participation in hackathons and internship programs, as well as practical steps for building a career in Web3 — from acquiring essential skills to launching personal projects and obtaining grants.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students discussed technical aspects of smart contract development and decentralized application (dApp) architecture with the speaker. Such initiatives contribute to expanding students’ professional horizons and strengthening the practice-oriented training of future specialists.
