On March 31, 2022, the Department of Ecology and Biotechnology organized a guest lecture for students under the educational program 6B09103 – «Veterinary», 6B09101 – «Veterinary Medicine» and 7М09101/7М09102 – «Veterinary Medicine» with the invitation of the head of the Food safety Department of the WKO branch of the RSE on the right of economic management “Republican Veterinary Laboratory” of the Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the RK Tleuova Lyazzat Zhanaidarovna.
The purpose of this meeting is to familiarize students with the main activity of the enterprise, which is aimed at protecting the population from diseases common to animals and humans by conducting regular diagnostic studies and thus ensuring the epizootic well–being of the country for especially dangerous animal diseases.
The Republican state enterprise on the right of economic management “Republican Veterinary Laboratory” was established in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 21, 2009 No. 1908.
According to Article 11 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Veterinary Medicine” dated July 10, 2002 No. 339, the subject of the company’s activity is the implementation of functions attributed to the state monopoly:
- Diagnostics of especially dangerous diseases of animals included in the list approved by the authorized body;
- Diagnostics of enzootic diseases of animals included in the list approved by the local executive body of the region, the city of republican significance, the capital.
Also, the activities of the enterprise, technologically related to the functions of the state monopoly, include:
- Conducting laboratory tests and veterinary and sanitary examination;
- Verification of measuring instruments and certification of test equipment;
- Bacteriological studies of disinfection quality;
- Disposal and destruction of biological waste.
In order to implement the above functions, the state has created an extensive network of veterinary laboratories.
The total number of employees of the enterprise is more than 3,000 units. The personnel of the enterprise is represented by highly qualified specialists.
All laboratories are equipped with modern general laboratory equipment for carrying out classical methods of diagnostic studies. Regional and regional laboratories are additionally equipped with modern equipment for enzyme immunoassay, polymerase chain reaction (PCR in standard and real-time), bacteriological and virological studies.
