On September 27, 2024, the Jaiq Hackathon dedicated to digitalization in the field of HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) ended. The event was held at the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology and brought together participants from various universities, including Makhambet Utemisov West Kazakhstan University, Nazarbayev University, S. Utebayev Atyrau University of Oil and Gas, Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian Technical University and West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology.

For 24 hours, the teams have been working on the real challenges of the oil and gas industry, offering innovative solutions to improve safety at work and protect the environment. The participants used modern technologies such as IoT, big data, AI and blockchain.

Among the honored guests of the hackathon were Munira Tauekelova, Chief Manager of the Astana Hub Regional Development Office, and Rayymbek Nurlanovich, Head of the Digitalization Department of the Digital Technologies Department of the West Kazakhstan region.

At the end of the hackathon, the teams presented their projects to a jury consisting of experts in the field of occupational safety and digitalization. The winner was the project of the ZEREK team from the Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University. The best projects have been given the opportunity for further development and cooperation with large enterprises in the oil and gas sector. All participants were awarded certificates for participation in the event.
