On December 04, 2024, senior lecturer of the Department of Energy, Automation and Computer Engineering, M.T.N. Kairanbayeva A.B. held an open practical lesson on the discipline “Information and Communication technologies” on the topic “Information technologies in the professional sphere. Industrial ICT” in the AU-21O group.

The purpose of the open lesson was to familiarize students with the main aspects of using information technology in the professional field, with a focus on industrial ICT, software for specialized businesses and modern IT trends in various industries such as medicine, energy and industry. Security issues of industrial information and communication technologies were also discussed.

To create an interactive and exciting educational atmosphere, the teacher used the Wordwall and Kahoot platforms, which allowed students to actively participate in the lesson, as well as consolidate knowledge in a playful way.

To test the knowledge of homework, a game quiz was conducted at the beginning of the lesson using the Kahoot platform. The questions related to the use of IT in various industries, as well as data security. The students answered questions in real time, which not only allowed them to test their knowledge, but also added an element of the game, making the lesson more dynamic and exciting. The students competed for the best results, which stimulated them to take a more careful approach to the answers.

In practical work, the students were divided into three groups and created presentations on their topics and then defended their presentation. Next, the Wordwall platform was used to create interactive tests and quizzes that allowed students to actively participate in the learning process. The questions concerned both theoretical and practical aspects of the use of IT in industrial areas. This approach contributed to a better assimilation of the material and the active involvement of students in the educational process. To consolidate knowledge, after the main part of the lesson, a game quiz was conducted on the Wordwall platform using the Matching template, where students had to find answers and match the answers in their places.

The practical open lesson turned out to be successful and useful for students. Interactive platforms have significantly increased the interest of students in the topic and allowed them to better assimilate the material. The students actively participated in the discussions, shared their opinions and answered questions, which indicates a high level of engagement.

The teacher noted that the use of modern educational technologies makes learning more productive and interesting. During the lesson, students not only learned key concepts, but also developed skills in working with electronic resources and tools that will be useful in their future professional activities. The open lesson showed how important a competent approach to the use of information technology in professional fields is. The open lesson has achieved its goal.
