According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 5, 1997 № 3443, every year on May 31st Kazakhstan celebrates the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repression and Famine. This is a memorable day, on which mourning events and memorial events are held dedicated to the memory of people who died and suffered during political repression. The memorable date is dedicated to one of the most difficult pages in the historical annals of the 20th century – mass political repressions and the horrific famine.

On May 29, 2025, Professor of the Department of General Education Disciplines of Industrial Technology Institute Kadyrgaliev Nurbulat Mendygalievich gave a lecture dedicated to the Day of Remembrance. Particular emphasis was placed on history and historical memory lessons. The lecture was attended by 1st and 2nd year students and the Industrial Technology.
