As part of the Decade of Science on April 11, 2024, senior lecturer of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering G.E. Kalesheva took part with a report on the topic: “The role of K.I. Satpayev in the creation of a metallogenic map of Central Kazakhstan” in a round table dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Academician K.I. Satpayev, organized by the Department of General Education Disciplines.
In her report, Gulmira Ermukhambetovna provided information about the metallogenic map, which is compiled on the basis of a geological map reflecting various factors of ore formation and the contribution of Kanysh Imantaevich Satpayev, an outstanding Soviet geologist, the founder of the school of metallogeny in Kazakhstan in creating a map in Central Kazakhstan. In 1958, a group of Kazakhstani geologists led by Academician K. I. Satpayev was awarded the Lenin Prize for the development of a methodological basis and the compilation of predictive metallogenic maps of Central Kazakhstan, which had no analogue in world geological practice. At the end of the report, Gulmira Ermukhambetovna provided information on the current state of minerals in Central Kazakhstan. I would like to thank Nurbolat Mendygalievich for inviting me as a practicing geologist who has worked for the company for several years. I think that our students should know their scientists and be proud of their past.
