On 13 October 2026, students from groups ЮР-220, ЮР-31О and ЮР-33О, enrolled in the 6В04202 Jurisprudence programme at the Department of Law of the Institute of Industry Technologies, visited the West Kazakhstan Region Police Department. The visit took place under a memorandum of cooperation between West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University and the regional Police Department.
- Kh. Rakhmetov, Associate Professor in the Department of Law and Candidate of Legal Sciences, introduced the future lawyers to Police Lieutenant Colonel K. K. Urazbayev, Deputy Head of the Special Training Directorate.
The visit began with a tour of the Police Department’s Operational Control Centre. Students were shown how officers use modern video surveillance systems to maintain public order and road safety around the clock. High-resolution cameras allow officers to monitor conditions in the regional capital and district centres in real time. Centre staff explained how these technologies help detect and record offences, respond promptly, identify offenders and hold them accountable, putting the principles of the Law and Order concept into practice. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions.
Next, in the gym, K. K. Urazbayev introduced students to the physical and specialised training undertaken by Police Department officers. The future lawyers watched officers practise techniques for stopping an attack by an armed offender, apprehending and escorting the suspect, as well as hand-to-hand combat techniques and strength exercises.
The visit continued at the Police Department’s new museum. Museum Director A. A. Kadyrgaliyeva led an informative tour, introducing students to the history and development of the region’s internal affairs agencies. The exhibition covers the work of the militia and police across different periods, as well as those who served in the Great Patriotic War and those who worked on the home front. Their uniforms, equipment and personal decorations are on display.
The future lawyers were particularly interested in the forensic and specialised equipment and communications devices used by law enforcement officers, as well as the collection of rare firearms and bladed weapons confiscated from criminals. Students also viewed displays devoted to sporting achievements, the work of the veterans’ organisation and the heroic deeds of law enforcement officers in the Ural region. These displays honour officers who risked their lives and those who died in the line of duty, remaining faithful to their oath. The museum’s extensive collection made a strong impression on the visitors.
At the end of the visit, T. Kh. Rakhmetov thanked K. K. Urazbayev and A. A. Kadyrgaliyeva on behalf of the Department of Law’s teaching staff and students for an engaging and informative tour, and wished them continued success in their work.
