On February 20, 2026, the West Kazakhstan Innovative-Technological University hosted a workshop on “Development of Dual Degree Programs” for department heads, educational program managers, and leaders of the university’s structural units. The event aimed to improve academic policy, expand integration into the international educational space, and enhance the competitiveness of the university’s educational programs.
During the workshop, the First Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Work, S.A. Mashanova, delivered a presentation explaining the concept of dual degree programs, their main models, and issues related to regulatory support.
A.I. Kalniyazova, Head of the Academic and Methodological Department at the Institute of Sectoral Technologies, presented the stages of developing dual degree programs, mechanisms for updating internal regulations, and practical experience in their implementation.
Jailagul Oralovna Sagyndykova, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Infrastructure Development at Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University, shared her university’s experience in creating and implementing dual degree programs via online format. In her presentation, she highlighted effective mechanisms for organizing programs and the specifics of collaborating with foreign and domestic partner universities.
During the workshop, participants actively interacted, discussed materials related to the development of dual degree programs, and completed the assigned tasks. Upon completion, participants were awarded certificates.
The workshop contributes to the systematic development of the university’s educational programs, strengthens the academic environment, and ensures that the educational process meets international standards.
