On November 17, 2023, the Division of planning and organization of the educational process organized a workshop on the topic “Development of competencies through criteria assessment”. The purpose of the workshop is to assist young teachers in understanding the essence of criteria assessment and its practical application for the development of competencies among students. The workshop was attended by the vice-rector for educational and methodical work, heads of structural divisions and young tutors. During the workshop, young tutors got acquainted with the basic concepts such as learning outcomes, competence, criteria assessment, and learned how to develop students’ competencies with the help of formative assessment, as well as improve the quality of the educational process and the effectiveness of the tutor’s work. At the practical part of the seminar, the participants, choosing the theme of classes from the proposed syllabus, determined the purpose of training, compiled an assessment criterion, and distributed the assessment criteria by levels of thinking skills (descriptors).
