On March 11, 2022, in accordance with the plan of the student club “Sanaly Urpak”, an inter-faculty debate game “Corruption is a disease of society” was held.

Currently, much attention is paid to the modernization and development of debate games by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to the Minister of Education A. Aimagambetov, debates perfectly form the ability to use the available knowledge, develop functional literacy, which are the key to successful self-realization in the future. The debate, according to the minister, is not only an intellectual role-playing game, it is a real educational technology.

The purpose of the event: the formation of zero tolerance for corruption, the development of leadership qualities and patriotic feelings among students.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Vice-rector for Educational Work of the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology Abekeshev Ayanbek Imanbaevich. He wished the participants of the game good luck.

The tournament was attended by 3 teams from the faculties of the Faculty of Engineering and Humanities of the “Adilet” faction, the Faculty of Languages and Management of the “Akikat” faction and the Pedagogical Faculty of the “Alash” faction.

At the beginning of the intellectual game was held in the “Kahoot” format, students were asked questions on various topics related to the legislative framework, knowledge of official services and phones in case of problems with corruption. Then, according to the rules of the game, they switched to the American format of parliamentary debates. Students demonstrated knowledge and technique of games, reasonableness of conclusions.

The teams gave interesting arguments, showed good preparation, knowledge of the topic.

According to the decision of the jury , the seats were distributed as follows:

1st place – faction “Alash” pedagogical faculty

2nd place – Akikat faction, Faculty of Languages and Management

3rd place – “Adilet” faction Faculty of Engineering and Humanities

The “Best Speaker” of the tournament was determined. According to the results of all the games, Gulnaz, a 1st-year student of the juridical- 11 group, Gallyamova, became them.

All the winners were awarded with special diplomas. Holding such events plays an important role in uniting young people for the benefit of the future of our country.
