On October 18, 2023, for the students of the YUR-21 group, the head of the group, senior lecturer, M.Y.N. Sarsenova A. Zh. held a curatorial hour “Gambling addiction”.

The purpose of the curatorial hour: the formation of students’ ideas about the game problem at the present time, the development of an understanding of the existing shortcomings of the game, the education of moral culture.

During the curatorial session, a documentary film “Obsession” was shown, shot with the support of Ruslan Bergenov, a member of the Finance and Budget Committee of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The film tells the story of real characters involved in gambling. A lot of people say that the risk from gambling is great. This kind of game changes over time, and the damage increases. A person who benefits from this gradually separates from society and begins to destroy human qualities, such as establishing connections with others, communication, development as a person. Ludomania, that is, gambling addiction, was considered all over the world as a disease, and in this regard, a special medical term was introduced.

The new economic path has led our country not only to a change in living conditions, but also to the emergence of a new psychological dependence. Craving for a game is a psychological addiction called a game.
