As part of the Quality Week at the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University, a seminar titled “Conscious and Responsible Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)” was organized. The seminar was conducted by Mukhtar Zinur Gafurovuly, senior lecturer of the Department of Physical Education and Informatics, Master of Pedagogy.
The event was attended by university faculty members and students from various educational programs. The seminar program consisted of theoretical and practical sections aimed at broadening participants’ understanding of GenAI tools and promoting their safe and effective use.
In the theoretical section, the speaker presented the key principles of conscious use of generative artificial intelligence. Participants received up-to-date information aligned with UNESCO recommendations, including ethical usage principles, ways to maintain academic integrity, user responsibility, and digital hygiene.
The practical section was conducted in an interactive format. Participants practiced formulating prompts, conducting dialogues, and using ChatGPT for educational and research purposes. They also explored methods of conducting research, analyzing scientific texts, and developing self-learning skills using the Gemini tool. Practical approaches to creating educational content with the help of artificial intelligence were demonstrated through the Padlet online board.
During the seminar, students and faculty learned effective methods for applying GenAI technologies in learning, scientific research, and professional activities. The seminar emphasized the importance of responsible use of artificial intelligence and offered concrete tools for its integration into the educational process.
This seminar, held within the framework of Quality Week, became an important step in advancing digital pedagogy and innovative educational technologies.
