On January 27, 2022, an expanded meeting was held with representatives of universities chaired by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.K. Aimagambetov on the upcoming tasks of the development of the education system for 2022. The staff of the West Kazakhstan Innovation University took part in this meeting and as a result, a number of directions for the development of our university were identified.

First Vice-rector, Vice-rector for Educational and Methodological work B.T. Shakeshev:

One of the most important directions in the modern conditions of the autonomy of universities is the regulatory and legal support of the educational process and the full implementation of the Academic policy of the university.  The implementation of the Academic Policy and the education quality policy of our university is based on the accumulated values and traditions of the university, the potential of the teaching staff, scientific schools.

In this aspect, the priorities for our university are:

  • development of the university infrastructure based on innovative technologies;
  • improvement of the educational process in accordance with professional standards and the national qualifications framework, based on knowledge-intensive education and practice-oriented;
  • building effective communications between the university and stakeholders for the successful implementation of educational programs;
  • introduction of new information and interactive technologies, online and IT learning technologies into the educational process, improvement of MTB and work on the development of visual aids in disciplines, introduction of technical training tools;
  • search for ways to intensify the educational process based on the integrated use of scientific recommendations, best practices, organizational forms and teaching methods;
  • implementation of the results of scientific and methodological research in the educational process;
  • organization of professional development of the teaching staff, internships and exchange of experience with teachers of the best universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad;
  • development of international cooperation and partnership, participation in joint educational and scientific projects, academic mobility programs;
  • development of creative potential and leadership qualities of students, support of youth initiatives, startups, volunteer activities.

Vice-Rector for Strategy and Quality Assurance A.S. Irgaliev:

According to the results of participation in the report of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the following points will be relevant to the existing strategic areas of work of faculties and departments of the University:

  • entry into the league of competitive OPS at the regional level;
  • maintaining HR policy and talent management to further improve the quality of personnel;
  • expansion of cooperation with leading universities within the framework of the Alliance of Universities of the Center-Asian region;
  • development of educational programs taking into account the “Atlas of new professions”;
  • orientation of educational programs to professional standards of employers, participation in the national rating through the eyes of employers;
  • when developing competency models of graduates, the analysis of global competencies and functional literacy, including in pedagogical areas;
  • expansion of specializations for students of pedagogical directions on the protection of children’s rights, the creation of special conditions in the process of teaching children with disabilities;
  • development of an OP for the training of “teaching assistants” for the inclusive education system;
  • development of scientific projects and elective disciplines on early professional diagnostics of schoolchildren and diagnostics of the development of abilities and skills;
  • for the OP “Preschool education and upbringing” cooperation with the RSU MES RK “Institute of Early Development of Children”;
  • for the OP “Pedagogy and Psychology” and “Psychology”, the development of elective disciplines on school bullying, foster family, etc.;
  • in connection with the expansion of the PMPK network, it is necessary to train teachers-psychologists and psychologists who have the competencies to diagnose deviant development of children and technologies of inclusive education.

Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations V.A. Burakhta:

In the field of science and international cooperation, the university faces the following tasks for 2022:

  • participation of young scientists in the competition of scientific projects for grant funding “Zhas Galym” for 2022-2024;
  • development of anchor research within the framework of established scientific schools and the formation of new scientific schools in pedagogical and technical sciences;
  • increase in the number of scientific publications of the teaching staff in publications indexed in international databases (Web of Science, Scopus, etc.);
  • expansion of the range and implementation of research works on orders of enterprises and organizations aimed at the development of the West Kazakhstan region;
  • development of scientific laboratories and centers functioning at the university and creation of new laboratories of pedagogical and technical profile;
  • development of international scientific partnerships within the framework of established international consortia, alliances with universities and research institutes of foreign countries;
  • development of scientific projects of teaching staff in priority areas of science for participation in the competition of grant funding of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2022-2024;
  • organization and holding of a business project (startup) competition among teachers and students in order to attract scientific developments to commercialization.

Vice-Rector for Educational Work A.I. Abekeshev:

The main task of the higher education system is to create the necessary conditions for the formation, development and professional formation of a specialist’s personality on the basis of national and universal values; the realization of the rights to upbringing, education and comprehensive development, preservation of the native language, culture, national customs and traditions, awareness, health promotion. Creating conditions for the formation and development of these qualities is increasingly considered as the most important task of the education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The orientation of the state policy on the integrity of the education of the student as a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan and ensuring his constitutional rights are reflected in the Concept of educational work of the ZKITU.

In this direction, the educational work of our university sets itself the task announced by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.K. Aimagambetov to strengthen and develop the following important areas:

  • development of student self-government;
  • work of the Youth Affairs committee;
  • development of the debate movement;
  • volunteer movement. 

The expected results are:

  • formation of civic and patriotic values among young people;
  • improving the qualities of academic integrity;
  • providing the labor market with practice-oriented personnel;
  • education of a socially responsible person;
  • implementation of the principle of lifelong learning.
