On April 21, 2026, an international scientific round table on the topic “Digitalization of Law: Challenges and Solutions” was held at the West Kazakhstan Innovative-Technological University (Institute of Sectoral Technologies).
The event brought together faculty members, researchers, practicing lawyers, as well as representatives of the academic community from the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. Both university lecturers and invited speakers from leading domestic and foreign higher education institutions took part in the round table.
Among the international participants were representatives of the Stolypin Volga Region Institute of Management of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and the Saratov State Law Academy.
The following speakers delivered reports: Jamila S. Velieva – Doctor of Law, Professor; Oleg V. Devyatov – Senior Lecturer; Elena V. Kombarova – Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor; Oksana A. Uglanova – Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor; Elena V. Kornukova – Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor.
Among the national invited speakers was Nelli T. Sakhanova – Master of Law, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the Aktobe Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Bukenbayev, Police Colonel.
Faculty members of the university actively participated in the round table, presenting scientific reports on актуальные issues of legal system development in the context of digitalization. The event was moderated by a representative of the university.
During the round table, key issues of digital transformation of the legal system were discussed, including the development of e-justice, ensuring the protection of personal data, the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies into legal practice, and the formation of digital legal ecosystems.
Following the event, participants noted the high scientific level of the presented reports, the relevance of the discussed issues, and the importance of international academic cooperation in the context of digitalization of law.
The round table became an important platform for exchanging scientific ideas, discussing modern trends in the development of legal science, and strengthening academic ties between universities of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
