Every year, in mid-October, World Standardization Day is celebrated worldwide. The Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety of the Institute of Industrial Technologies did not stand aside and took part in a seminar dedicated to the professional holiday, initiated by the Kazakh Institute of Standardization and Metrology “KazStandart”. The theme of the seminar: “Standards in support of Sustainable Development Goals” is the motto of Standardization Day 2024.
This day highlights the importance of standards and the importance of the work of specialists involved in their development and implementation. National standardization bodies around the world hold events dedicated to this day.
For several years, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has been defining the theme of World Standards Day to support the development of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Standards are the main tool that establishes technical solutions in all sectors of the economy, in the field of ecology, quality of life of the population, etc.
During the seminar, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), issues of SDG implementation at the planning stage, the role of national standards in ensuring quality and sustainability in various fields, as well as examples of the application and integration of standards designed to help enterprises and investors integrate the principles of sustainable development and SDGs into their management systems and decision-making practices were considered.
Events of this kind provide an opportunity for teachers of the OP “Standardization and Certification” of our university to be in the center of events and take direct part in events related to professional standardization activities.
