On September 6, a scientific conference «Scientific, methodological and legal problems of the organization of veterinary medicine» dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Professor I.N.Nikitin was held at the Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine named after N.E.Bauman. Associate Professor of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety Keikieva Kalamkas Kadrgulovna went to her Alma mater to congratulate her mentor and supervisor. She made a presentation at the conference on «The experience of organizing veterinary business in the Republic of Kazakhstan».

Ivan Nikolaevich Nikitin is the founder of the Department of Organization and Economics of Veterinary Medicine of the Bauman State Veterinary University, the founder and permanent head of the Kazan Scientific School of Veterinary Economists, the founder of the doctrine of the economics of veterinary medicine. He created a set of textbooks and manuals, monographs on the history of veterinary medicine, veterinary entrepreneurship, national and international veterinary legislation, and the organization of state veterinary supervision.

The huge role of I.N.Nikitin in the development of normative legal documents on the regulation and organization of veterinary business, planning of veterinary activities, rationing of the work of veterinary specialists.

Under his leadership, 18 doctoral and 44 PhD theses were completed and defended. His students serve veterinary medicine in different parts of the globe – in Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Canada and the Republic of Chad.

Ivan Nikolaevich is a true legend of veterinary science. His contribution to the development of veterinary medicine is invaluable. At the age of 90, he continues to work for the benefit of veterinary medicine in the native walls of KSAVM.
