On November 17, 2023, a meeting of students of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety of IOT ZKITU with representatives of the RSU State Natural Reserve “Bokeiorda” took place. The head of the Department of scientific, information and environmental monitoring Kairanova A.A. and senior researcher Aitkalieva K.E. held an introductory meeting with students of the OP “Veterinary”, “Veterinary Medicine”, “Life safety and environmental protection”, “Standardization and certification”, during which they talked about the main functions and tasks of the organization.

The “Bokeiorda” State Nature Reserve is a specially protected natural area located in the Bokeyordinsky, Zhanibeksky, Kaztalovsky and Zhangalinsky districts of the West Kazakhstan region. The reserve is the first protected area with the status of a legal entity in the West Kazakhstan region. The reserve was created to protect the Ural saiga population. Simultaneously with the reserve, the adjacent “Aschiozek” Nature Reserve was organized.

Scientific research and monitoring of the condition of vertebrates and invertebrates are carried out on the territory of the “Bokeiorda” State Technical and Industrial Complex and the “Aschyozek” State Nature Reserve. Also, the task of the Bokeiorda Nature Reserve is environmental education of the population in order to disseminate environmental knowledge and information about the state of the environment and the use of natural resources in order to form an ecological culture in society.

The meeting was very interesting and informative for both students and teachers present. The issues of concern to many residents of the West Kazakhstan region concerning the regulation of the number of saiga in the Ural population have not been ignored.
