On April 29, 2023, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek visited the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University, where he got acquainted with the educational institution, its achievements, material and technical base and scientific and pedagogical potential.

The Minister’s visit began with the planting of fir-trees in front of the educational building of WKITU. The event was attended by Akim of the West Kazakhstan region Nariman Toregaliyev and President of the Association of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rakhman Alshanov, scientists from Turkey and rectors of universities from different regions of Kazakhstan.

The Minister and guests of the university were presented with an exhibition of university pedagogues and scientists’ works, during which university scientists acquainted the guests with applied research work on grant financing and commercialization carried out at the university, as well as fundamental scientific research in the social and humanitarian direction, shared the contribution of research WKITU in the social and economic development of the region.

During the visit, a solemn ceremony opening of the WKITU television studio by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan was organized, and the work of specialized study rooms and  laboratories equipped to ensure the proper conduct of the educational process was also demonstrated. The guests of the university got acquainted with the Scientific Hub for Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology of WKITU and laboratory and practical classes in veterinary disciplines aimed at strengthening practical knowledge and skills.

Also, the Minister and guests of the university, within the framework of the “kindergarten-school-college-university” chain aimed at ensuring the trend of continuous education, were shown the educational process in the “Aiyana” kindergarten, which is under the operational control of the university.

At the end of the visit, a meeting of the Minister with the faculty and students of the university was organized. At the meeting, Sayasat Nurbek acquainted the participants with the current state of science and higher education in the country, and also shared positive changes in the development of the industry within the framework of the Concept for the Development of Higher Education and Science in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029. During the meeting instructors and students asked questions and exchanged views.
