The Department of Oil and Gas Engineering is a graduate and prepares Bachelors, Master’s degree students by the educational program 6B07201/04/ 7M07201/02 – Oil and Gas Engineering.
The Department has 17 full-time teachers, including: 2 professors, 3 associate professors, 1 doctor of technical sciences, 3 candidates of technical sciences, 1 doctor PhD, 7 Masters of technical sciences and 5 senior teachers, as well as 10 teachers of practitioners from production. All teachers have appropriate basic education.
Every year, foreign scientists are invited as part of academic mobility. Specialists from production are invited to give lectures on special disciplines of EP 6B07201-Oil and Gas Engineering and 7M07201/02 – Oil and Gas Engineering.
Teaching staff of the department constantly improves their qualifications, participating in various courses, seminar-trainings, master classes, attending open classes of leading teachers of the department and university.
For the high-quality organization of the academic process, a virtual laboratory and 4 specialized classrooms have been created and are functioning at the department. This Department provides training and production practices for students and undergraduates. The main bases of production practices are the leading enterprises of the region, such as: KPO b.v. company, JSC “Kazburgaz”, JSC “IntergasCentralAsia”, LLP “Alau”, etc.
The teaching staff of the department are actively engaged in scientific work, participate in various international and republican scientific competitions, conferences, seminars. Over the past 3 years, the Faculty of the Department has published more than 50 scientific articles and theses, written 3 scientific reports on fundamental and contractual themes.
The Department has a scientific student society (SSS) and scientific student circles, where more than 50 students of 1-4 courses are engaged in scientific work.
Under the leadership of the teaching staff of the department, students successfully present scientific works at international, republican competitions such as: competition SRW MS&HS RK, “Young Scientist,” Republican subject Olympiad II round, “ZIAT,” “Best Innovative Student Project,” etc.
Bachelor degree students and Master degree students annually participate in the KAZENERGY association scholarship program and become holders of educational funding.
Along with academic and scientific work, the Department also conducts educational work with students. Under the guidance of group mentors, students actively participate in cultural, sports and educational events held at the university such as “Health Day,” “Freshman Day,” “The Day of Languages,” “Nauryz – Spring Festival,” etc.
