One of the main directions of research work at the university is the issue of international cooperation. Therefore, the university carries out purposeful work on the implementation and organization of cooperative scientific research work with near and far abroad universities.
In October 2016, a creative cooperation agreement was signed between West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University (Uralsk, Republic of Kazakhstan) and the Orenburg State Pedagogical University (Orenburg, Russian Federation) on the research topic: “Russia and Kazakhstan: historical experience of the development of education, culture and science in the pre-revolutionary, Soviet and post-Soviet periods”. Under the treaty, a creative cooperation plan was drawn up and signed for the period from 2016 to 2020.The executors of the agreement are the Department of History and SHD of West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University and the Department of Russian History of the Orenburg State Pedagogical University.
As part of the implementation of scientific and creative cooperation plan, the following events were held:
- On December 9, 2016, West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University jointly with Orenburg State Pedagogical University held an international scientific and practical conference “Alikhan Bukeikhanov – a fighter for the formation of Kazakh statehood”, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 150th anniversary of Alikhan Bukeikhanov. The conference was attended by historians of Kazakhstan and Russia. The conference was held at a high scientific level. A collection of articles was published as the result of the conference.

In the next 2017-2018 academic year, international cooperation between the two universities has been continued. On September 1, 2017, universities announced the Third International competition of young scientists of Russia and Kazakhstan “Historical and cultural heritage of the Orenburg Region and the Ural Region “, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Archival Service of Russia and the 130th anniversary of the Orenburg Regional Library. The competition was held on the basis of the Orenburg State Pedagogical University. Young scientists and undergraduates from Kazakhstan and Russia took part in the competition. According to the results of the competition, the 1st-year master’s student of the specialty History Zh.N.Tulegenov was awarded a diploma of the I degree. The topic of the competition work is “The education system of Ural Region in the Soviet period: difficulties and achievements”. Scientific supervisor Ph.D., Associate Professor R.L.Abdrakhmanova. For the scientific guidance of the competitive work, Ph.D., Associate Professor R.L.Abdrakhmanova was awarded a letter of thanks signed by the rector, Professor S.A.Alyoshina.
- In December 2017, as part of the implementation of the creative cooperation plan, another joint international competition of young historians of Russia and Kazakhstan was held on the basis of West Kazakhstan of Innovation and Technological University: “Russia and Kazakhstan: historical experience of the development of education, culture and science in the pre-revolutionary period”. The purpose of the competition is to encourage historians, teachers, cultural and social scientists of Russia and Kazakhstan to engage in scientific activities in the field of historical experience of the development of education, culture and science in the pre-revolutionary period.

- On March 1-2, 2018, further international cooperation between the two universities received its encouragement within the framework of organizing and holding the international scientific and practical conference The Ninth Bolshakov Readings Orenburg region as a historical and cultural phenomenon, dedicated to the 275th anniversary of the founding of Orenburg, the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Orenburg Governor-General, honorary citizen of Orenburg N.A. Kryzhanovsky, the 100th anniversary of the organization of the state archival service. The conference was actively attended by Ph.D., Associate Professor R.L.Abdrakhmanova and B.S.Boranbayeva. The reports of R.L.Abdrakhmanova on the topic “Archival and other sources of Orenburg – as a material for the study of the development of the education system of Western Kazakhstan” and B.S.Boranbayeva “The role of the Great Silk Road in the formation and development of Saraychik” were published in the collection of articles of the conference.

In the 2019-2020 academic year between the Department of History and Law and the Department of “History of Russia” Orenburg State Pedagogical University continued its research work on the topic “Russia and Kazakhstan: historical experience of the development of education, culture and science in the pre-revolutionary, Soviet and post-Soviet periods”. The teachers of the two educational institutions paid special attention to the development of collections of scientific articles and works of the association.

From April 13 to 15, 2020, the XX International Scientific Conference of Young Scientists “The Progress of Science is the key to the development of an innovative society” was held at the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University, dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the outstanding thinker of the Middle Ages al-Farabi, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of science and world civilization. Students of Orenburg State Pedagogical University under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Russian History of Orenburg State Pedagogical University Petrich Larisa Vladimirovna made presentations at the international conference. At the end of the conference, the reports of students D.Tapetova and V.Goncharov were awarded by prizes.

According to the plan, in 2020 in Orenburg within the readings “10 Bolshakov Readings” within the international scientific and practical conference “Orenburg Region as a historical and cultural phenomenon”, Professor of the department R. T. Ernazarov, associate professors R. L. Abdrakhmanova, S. A. Edilkhanova, S. M. Balykova presented articles and received invitations. Also, for the international competition of young historians of Russia and Kazakhstan “Historical and cultural heritage of the Orenburg Region and the Ural Region”,the 4th-year students of the specialty “History” Zh. Aimurzin and S. Urazov sent a scientific report on the topic “The Cossacks of the Orenburg Region in the XVIII-XX centuries”. Supervisor: PhD, Associate Professor Edilkhanova S.A. According to the results of the competition, the 4th-year students of the specialty “History” Zh. Aimurzin and S. Urazov took the 2nd place.

On November 18, 2020, the international online scientific conference “Orenburg – the largest political, economic and cultural center of Eurasia” was held, organized jointly with the Orenburg State Pedagogical University.The conference began with a welcoming speech by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University, Professor Ernazarov Zh. T. and Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the Orenburg State Pedagogical University Burlutskaya E. V.In the online conference, presentations were made by: Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professors of the Department of History and Law of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University Abrakhmanova R. L., Bizhanova A. E., Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor Khairushin Zh. K The Orenburg State Pedagogical University was represented by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Dzhunjuzov S. V., Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Godovova E. V., Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Lyubichankovsky S. V.
Thus, the work on the plan implementation of cooperative scientific research plan with universities of the near and far abroad was carried out at the proper scientific, theoretical and organizational level.
In January 2021, a new creative cooperation agreement was signed between the West Kazakhstan of Innovation and Technological University (Uralsk, Republic of Kazakhstan) and Orenburg State Pedagogical University (Orenburg, Russian Federation) on the research topic: “Problems of the history of the Orenburg region in modern and modern times”. Under the treaty, a creative cooperation plan was drawn up and signed for the period from 2021 to 2025. The executors of the contract are the Department of History and Law of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University and the Department of Russian History of the Orenburg State Pedagogical University.
