03.05.2024 at the Department of «Pedagogy and Psychology» was held a workshop on «Modern methods of diagnosis and correction of mental disorders», the purpose of which was to reveal the features of the work of a practical psychologist, approaches and methods of psychodiagnosis in the framework of individual correction-psychotherapy. Maria Ibragimovna Shakirzhanova (mariya.cbt.psy) – clinical psychologist, cognitive-behavioral and schema-therapist was invited to conduct the seminar.

In the introductory speech the lecturer of the department Sultanov A.B. revealed the relevance of the seminar topic, its goals and objectives.

In the first part of the seminar Maria Ibragimovna told about the peculiarities of practical work of a psychologist. The questions of diagnostics in the conditions of individual work with clients were highlighted. The listeners learned about the specifics of using classical psychodiagnostic techniques, about the value of non-experimental methods (observation, interview, conversation) in the conditions of individual work.

In the second part of the seminar Maria Ibragimovna told about two modern methods of psychotherapy: cognitive-behavioral therapy and schema therapy. Unfortunately, both of these methods are not very popular in our country, while, for example, cognitive-behavioral therapy is scientifically recognized. The trainees were introduced to the theoretical and practical foundations of these methods. In addition, several case studies were presented to demonstrate the specifics of these therapeutic methods.

At the end of the seminar, Maria Ibragimovna answered questions from the audience.

In general, the seminar was very useful for both students and lecturers. The listeners had an opportunity to get acquainted with the work of a practical psychologist, to ask questions about the specifics of individual work with clients.
