On April 9, 2026, in accordance with the academic schedule, an open practical lesson was conducted for the STR-31 group of the 6B07302 – Construction educational program in the дисципline “Metal Structures” on the topic “Methods of Protecting Metal Structures from Corrosion.”
The purpose of the lesson was to develop students’ understanding of the causes of corrosion in metal structures, to study methods of its prevention, and to familiarize them with modern protection techniques used in the construction industry.
During the practical session, students examined the types and mechanisms of metal corrosion and analyzed preventive methods in practice. The main corrosion protection methods discussed included:
- application of protective coatings (painting, varnishing, galvanizing, etc.);
- use of corrosion-resistant materials and alloys;
- electrochemical protection methods (cathodic and anodic protection);
- use of special corrosion inhibitors.
Throughout the lesson, students completed group tasks, solved practice-oriented problems based on real production conditions, and presented their own solutions for protecting metal structures.
The open lesson was conducted at a high organizational and methodological level, contributing to increased student interest in the subject and the development of their professional competencies.
