On February 24, 2023, with the assistance of the Department of History and Law of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technology University, according to the academic mobility program, an open lecture was held by Professor of the International Educational Corporation of Almaty, Candidate of Historical Sciences Bekeshov Sarsengali Sagyzbaevich on the topic “Current problems of studying local history at the present time”.

As part of the actual problems of studying local history, the lecture touched upon topics in the course of studying local history work in Kazakhstan at the present time, on the protection of historical and cultural monuments, on the study of the cultural heritage of the past, tasks and prospects for the development of local history work.

The participants of the open lecture shared their thoughts, noting that abandoned, forgotten burial grounds, which are now the most pressing problems, are in a state of extinction as remnants of the tribal, political and economic life of the inhabitants of the region.

Sarsengali Sagyzbaevich noted that historical and cultural monuments are divided by their degrees into monuments of world, national and local significance, and are evidence of the development, formation of human society, as well as a miraculous work of world culture, it was noted that the protection of outstanding cultural values is a universal cause.

The lecture in ZOOM format was attended by students, undergraduates, young professionals studying under the educational program History.

The open lecture, organized for the purpose of studying local history, ended with an exchange of views of the participants.
